
With the theme “Beyond Borders: Strengthening Regional Cooperation toCombat Lassa Fever and Emerging Infectious Diseases,” this second editionbuilds on the momentum of the inaugural conference held in Abuja, Nigeria,in 2019. As Lassa fever continues to pose a persistent health threat in WestAfrica, LIC 2025 seeks to advance sustainable preparedness, improveregional coordination, and foster research and innovation to strengthenoutbreak response and health security across the region.
Over four days, LIC 2025 will convene policymakers, researchers, vaccinedevelopers, healthcare professionals, public health officials, and civil societyorganisations to share the latest scientific advancements, discuss strategiesfor effective outbreak management, and explore policy solutions fortackling Lassa fever and other infectious diseases.
The programme will feature plenary discussions, panel sessions, technicalworkshops, and research presentations, offering a dynamic platform forknowledge-sharing, networking, and action-oriented dialogue. Theconference will also work towards developing a regional roadmap thatprioritises research, enhances outbreak response capacity, and improvesaccess to vaccines and diagnostics.
Through multi-sectoral collaboration and collective action, LIC 2025 aims toshape the future of Lassa fever control while contributing to broader globalhealth security.
